Ayutthaya Today

Phra Nakhon Sri Ayutthaya, also known as a "Ayutthaya" is located in the center of the old capital of Thailand. There built in 1893 by King U-Thong and King Rama 1. There was the first time in the 417 years since the Ayutthaya was capital. There have the reigning king 33 persons from the 5th dynasty such as U Thong dynasty, Suphanaphumi dynasty, Sukhothai dynasty, Prasat Thong dynasty and Ban Phu Luang dynasty. It was capital of Thailand to longevity of history in Thailand.

Ayutthaya don't have mountains but the main river is Pa Sak river, Chao Phraya river and Lopburi river that flow convergent in the surrounding towns. The province is island that densely houses and populated two side of the river. Ayutthaya is away from Bangkok about 76 km and the area of approximately 2,556 square kilometers. With a good geography, Ayutthaya can grow crops more easily. And the important crops are rice followed by pepper, areca, coconut, sugarcane, cotton, fruit trees and other crops.

 Ayutthaya is a province as one of in Central Region , which is economically important. The GDP of the province with the third highest in the country and has a long history. So, there had a reputation as a major rice growing. The investment in Ayutthaya located in the industrial Zone 2 and 3 such as Bang Pa in Industrial, Ban Wa Industrial Estate (HITECH) and Saha Rattana Nakorn Industrial Estate. The field contains, including 2 zone such as Industrial Land Factory Wangnoi and Industrial zone and the Rojana Industrial.

The most popular product and souvenirs cannot miss that is Saimai sweet or soft sweet. And Ayutthaya also has many products to choose from. You can travel to various locations in Ayutthaya and you will find that every place you go will have a large selection of products.

And significant ancient temples of Ayutthaya is famous Phashisunphet temple, Phamongkolbophit temple, Hai Chaimongkol temple, Phanancheng Waravihan temple, Pharam temple, Mahathat temple, Jadee Phashisuriyothai monument, Lokkhayashutaram temple, Phamainru temple, Phudthaisawan temple, Khasattraworavihan temple etc.
